Supernova Supports Future Chicago Technologists at T4Youth Ping Pong Tournament

Did you know Chicago is one of the top tech hubs outside of Silicon Valley? At Supernova Technology (Supernova), we’re proud to be part of this bustling and thriving Chi-tech scene. And it’s important to us to give back to the community we love so much. That’s why we recently participated in the T4Youth: Table Tennis Tech Tournament.

If you’re not familiar with this event, T4Youth’s website lists its goal as uniting “Chicago tech professionals around a common passion for table tennis in order to raise money and support future generations of technologists." In fact, all proceeds from the event benefited The Chicago Tech Academy (ChiTech). ChiTech is a non-profit, 4-year contract school located in University Village, and was founded to inspire, educate, and connect the next generation of leaders. ChiTech seeks to increase the number of minority and low-income students that pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in college and careers.

Don’t you agree that ping pong is more fun when tied to a good cause?! Our teammates had a blast competing with other Chicago tech teams to crown a ping-pong champion at this sold out, standing-room-only event. And though we didn't make it to the final round, we're feeling all warm and fuzzy after a great night supporting future generations of technologists through ChiTech (a total of $105k was raised!) Want to learn more about why we were so excited to participate? Check out this video filmed in our River North office.
