Tao was formerly Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Morningstar, Inc., and was one of the company’s first 20 employees. While Tao was COO, Morningstar’s revenue grew from $70 million in 2000 to $550 million in 2010. Before he was COO, Tao spent three years as president of Morningstar’s International Division; he and his team launched operations in 18 different countries through startups, joint ventures, and acquisitions. Tao holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a master’s degree in computer science from Marquette University, and a B.S. in computer science from Hunan University (China).

Linda is a transformative leader with two decades of proven success in developing, launching, managing and growing SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) businesses globally. She was part of Morningstar’s senior leadership team that grew revenue 10x from $100M in early 2000 to $1B in 2018. During her career at Morningstar, she took on various senior leadership roles in product management, product development, sales, and marketing. She managed global product P&L for Morningstar’s institutional software business for ten years, building the business into the largest SaaS offering at the firm, delivering high double digit CAGR for the period. She also built and managed the global product, sales, marketing and service organization. Prior to joining Supernova, she oversaw about $400M Enterprise SaaS business at Morningstar.

Linda holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Loyola University of Chicago.

Jenny has worked as a consultant in the financial services/trading industry since 2013. She led projects for clients such as the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and FINRA and delivered multiple software projects for their market-regulation departments. Before that, Jenny spent nine years at Morningstar, where she served in various roles including manager of the software development team for the flagship product, Morningstar.com. Jenny holds a master’s degree in computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China.

Jeff is one of the co-founders of Supernova and has held a variety of roles since its inception. Jeff serves as the company’s Chief Product Officer where he leads product strategy and design for all core products, solutions and technical integrations across Supernova’s platform. He is responsible for working with clients, industry partners, and internal Supernova constituents to help make sure the platform meets clients’ business, security, legal, and compliance needs. Prior to joining Supernova, Jeff spent 20+ years at John Deere where he gained extensive global experience managing product development, new emerging technologies and operations.

Jeff holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.

Prior to joining Supernova, Chris was Chief Operating Officer at project44 (Enterprise SaaS Platform) where he led Finance and Operations as the company became the industry leader in freight visibility, increased recurring revenue 40x, and raised $90M+ in three rounds of Venture Capital funding. Prior to project44, Chris worked in FP&A at Ford Motor Company and Life Sciences Strategy Consulting at Accenture. Chris holds an MBA from Duke University and a B.S. in Accounting from Purdue University.

David is a former partner at Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC, where he served as chair of the corporate department and advised a broad range of businesses and individuals in corporate, securities, and lending matters. David holds a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law and a B.A. in economics from Duke University.

Jaramee, a CPA, has more than fifteen years of experience in both public and private accounting. She is a former financial advisor at Merrill Lynch and holds the CFP® designation. She previously worked at McGladrey as a CPA. Jaramee holds a B.S. in accounting from Iowa State University.

Prior to Supernova, Julie worked for Merrill Lynch for 27 years, the last 19 as a business and compliance administrative manager. While at Merrill Lynch, Julie held her Series 7, 63, 65, 8 and 3 registrations. Julie has been the Chief Compliance Officer of Supernova since its inception, concentrating on the development, implementation, and ongoing review of the company’s policies and procedures. Julie brings three decades of financial services experience to assisting the operations team and also oversees the company's licensing activities.

Julie holds a dual B.A. in economics and political science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Katie joined Supernova in 2021 as a Product Manager on Collateral Monitoring.

Throughout the years, she has led and managed diverse initiatives on Loan Service, Data Operations, Smart Analytics and Research. Today, Katie oversees the entire Supernova product portfolio, including Aperture, Prism, Advisor Tools, End-to-End SBL Solution and more.

Prior to joining Supernova, Katie worked at Advyzon and Morningstar. With both organizations, she worked directly with global financial service companies and investment managers, leveraging her investment research and portfolio reporting knowledge.

Katie holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Mathematics and International Studies from Macalester College.

John serves as Head of Research, focused on innovation and thought leadership in the Supernova platform. Prior to this role, he served as SVP of Product Management, where he led the Collateral Management solution and data strategy. Before joining Supernova, John was Head of Global Data Operations and Data Analytics, and Chief Quality Officer at Morningstar, Inc.

John holds a doctorate in Industrial and Operations Engineering with a concentration in statistical decision analysis from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University. He also studied in the EMBA program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
